Don't Confuse Optimal With Best

Boston Entrepreneur Coach, Startup Coach, Entrepreneur Mindset, Startup Mindset

When I work with founders on their entrepreneurial mindset two of the most common hurdles to their success in making rapid progress are where to look for experts and what it truly means to go after best. Because entrepreneurial mindset is so powerful I’m sharing these two concepts to help you innovate faster and think better about your venture.

Realizing the importance of these two ideas is one of the early steps in achieving success. Now let’s take these concepts, build on them and go much deeper to enhance your creativity, innovation, and momentum. Reach out to get started here.

1. Don’t Confuse Optimal And Best

Most entrepreneurs confuse optimal and best.

And, when this happens they end up stalling, not making progress.

Best is the pursuit of the most advantageous outcome.

Optimal is the pursuit of the greatest result under specific conditions.

To make rapid progress as a startup you need to focus on the optimal result and not let the perfection of best get in your way.

2. Ask The Expert Next To You

As an entrepreneur, you don’t need to find the world’s leading expert to make progress.

But this is often what founders try to do. Searching for the right book, the right course, the right … etc.

Those can be valuable and celebrated on their own.

But, what most startups miss is what they are really looking for is the person who has the answer to the problem they’re hitting right now.

Most of the time the expert you need is right next to you working on the same problem.

To make rapid progress ask that person how they are tackling the problem you’re hitting and understand how they’re doing it.
